Malkin: Politically Timed Immigration Raids Won't Bail Out Bush

"I speak regularly with dedicated men and women who work for the Department of Homeland Security, and especially agents from across the country who work for the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement," says Michelle Malkin. "I can tell you based on my reporting over the last five years that the Bush administration's belated efforts to look tough on immigration enforcement at worksites amount to a cynical, politically timed effort to salvage the White House's guest worker program dreams and schemes. I'm referring to this story linked prominently today on Drudge and spread elsewhere."

Update: here is the DHS document outlining the "new, improved" enforcement strategy

Yes, we understand the posturing and play for the cameras...that's why we have to keep the pressure on Congress to do the right thing and force border security and workplace compliance as the only viable means of starting immigration reform...take away the incentives and I would bet many illegals would pack up and go home...we have to get tough!

I hope Michelle, FAIR or someone can keep track of this and find out if the illegals get deported, or are just let go pending a 'hearing' and if the company pays a fine or just appeals and lets the thing tail off. This is important. I know this thing is just sugar for the pill of amnesty, but if nothing comes of it, we will have an opportunity to shine a light under the rot.

Just another dog and pony show by the Jorge
Bush administration... These morons in Washington really think the American people are that stupid... So now we should believe that they`re all of a sudden cracking down on illegals, this just gets more laughable everyday.

I think there are 12 million illegal immigrants who reside in the US, They will all be lost.i think they need to give good consideration to the ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS and henceforth set rules for any future coming illegal immigrants.

Maybe by the time Jorge Bush is out of office his Texas ranch will belong to Mexico and his illegal Mexican and Saudi buddies. Maybe the jerk will be forced to live under their primitive laws and way of life.

At that point he will be crawling over the border, wanting to get back into the United States.

The Bush administration is amazing. No uplifting of Americans. No real focus on how to help the poor or downtrodden---in America. No, real positive message for the remaining middle class. No, I don't mean some great society program. How about just minding the store where Americans are concerned? Instead, everything seems to revolve around how idiots like Karl Rove can spin things. The eternal question with these people seems to be ,"How will it look? Not "what will it do"?
The Democrats are'nt one whit better. But their not presently in charge. Both parties do nothing but constantly spin the facts AWAY from what most Americans want. Both parties have totaly ruined by their utter neglect , the hope and faith so many Americans have in this country. We need leaders.

As one guy said on Lou Dobbs, it isn't even a drop in the bucket.

It makes me happy, however, to see that Bush is running scared. I still think he has the dirty tricks, blackmail and double dealing to possibly get Vincente's dream...but lets keep working. Now that he has started this, perhaps the momentum will keep it going.

WELL IT SEEMS LIKE THEY ARE TRYING TO PULL A FAST ONE ON US AT THIS MOMENT, BY TRYING TO IMPRESS US WITH THE RAIDS , TO DISTRACT US FROM CONTINUING TO OPPOSE THE AMNESTY AND GUEST WORK PROGRAMS THEY TRYING TO PASS. IF THEY ARE VERY SERIOUS AS THEY ARE SAYING , THEY SHOULD START HITTING THE STATE THAT HAS THE MOST ILLEGAL ALIENS AND THAT IS CALIFORNIA FOR MOST OF THESE CRIMINALS ARE IN CALIFORNIA. ALSO CONGRESS SHOULD NOT DISTRACT THEM SELF FROM PASSING THE HR4437 FOR IT WILL CONTINUE TO PUNISH THE EMPLOYER WHO ARE CONTRIBUTING TO THE ILLEGALS CROSSING TO OUR NATION , BY PAYING THEIR COYOTE FEE AND GUARANTEE THEM A JOB BEFORE THEY ARRIVED TO OUR COUNTRY. WE SHOULD NOT LET OUR GUARD DOWN , UNTIL ILLEGALS ALIENS ARE BACK HOME.

hey for the americans who feel that the illegals need to go. a friend of mine sent me an e-mail with statements, not only from those who aren't here, but from those that are here, even in political offices. it's scary, here are some; mario obledo, calif. coalition of hispanic org., scty of health, educa. "california is going to be a hispanic state, if you don't like it, leave". how about, prof. fernando guerra, loyola maymount univ, to avoid a white backlash, we need to use codes that are understood by latinos. prof jose angel gutierrez, univ of texas, white america isn't make babies. they are, in our population. i love it. they are in their fear. i love it. to all americans, i don't care if you're liberal, conservative, or in the middle, stop being lazy. go to the poles and vote. for those that aren't registered, get out and register. if not, in the next 5, 10 years, we will be the minority. we will be the ones again trying to fight for our freedom. in stead of fighting the british, it's going to be the latinos. just watch

THEY'RE MODERN DAY BENEDICT ARNOLDS

All federal employees lifted their right hands and took an oath of office from the President down to the lowest ICE agent to SUPPORT THE CONSTITUTION and the federal laws.

You may disagree with the illegal immigration laws formed by the Constitution, BUT YOU SWORE TO SUPPORT them. In Websters "support" means favors or advocating.

If the President on down to the lowest ICE agent does not want to uphold illegal immigration laws, THEY ARE CONSTITUTION LAW ANARCHISTS, Benedict Arnolds in other words.

Too little, too late. Smoke and Mirrors... all a scam to buffalo some fence sitters who could go either way.

SUDDENLY, damnit, I am going to actually ENFORCE the law! You illegals - get in the back of that truck!!! (we will turn you loose tomorrow as happened in this case with all these arrests - vice the felons)

WAG THE DOG!!!

Screw the whole bunch of em and the horses they rode in on. It make no sense for the senate to be doing what they are doing . Going aganist the political wind . My only conclusion is that they have their coffers full, and will cast their votes for amensty and then run out the clock on their watch. Now for Bush, he is just a bleeding heart liberal that ran as a conservative and fooled a lot of people, inculding myself.,

Americans have seen through this Bush stunt to try to pave the way for amnesty. It didn't work, and the White House should get the memo: your bankrupt policies will be called on the carpet all the time, any time, until you slither out of office.

Now, Commisar Chertoff, do a little more to try to impress the plebes.

I'm still waiting for a smart lawyer to plead not guilty for his client who broke into a bank and robbed it. "He only did it to get money for a better life, your Honor." What's the difference in the legal criminal who goes to prison, and the illegal alien who gets rewarded with all the benefits of this nation?
