Calls for Immigration Emergency Spread


The declarations of immigration emergencies in New Mexico and Arizona are becoming a popular theme for expressing concern over today’s out-of-control illegal immigration wave. First there were calls in California and Texas on those governors to follow suit of the other two states that share a border with Mexico. Then the call for an emergency was made in Virginia. Most recently, a call was made for the declaration of an immigration emergency in Oregon by Oregonians for Immigration Reform. Jim Ludwick, the OFIR president, said the state is being harmed by illegal immigrants from Mexico. “They have bankrupted the Oregon Health Plan and made the state a magnet for the methamphetamine trade. Illegal aliens are consistently in the news for drunk driving arrests and many times they are caught having multiple Oregon driver licenses."
