Businesses Resist Recruitment into Bush Immigration Reform Effort


Bloomberg News reports a reluctance of businesses to be recruited into the campaign to raise funds to promote a lobbying effort for a White House immigration reform initiative. The reason for the foot dragging is that it is unclear that the initiative will give the businesses what they want, i.e., access to cheap immigrant workers. The article mentions that some business sectors are already lined up behind the Kennedy-McCain amnesty provision.
