Rise in Apprehension of Chinese Illegal Aliens on Southern Border


Apprehension of Chinese entering from Mexico, like other nationalities, recently has increased dramatically. Although the apprehended Chinese are only fifth in number among those other than Mexicans, there has been a 3,000 percent increase in recent years.

(FAIR Comment: The article notes that the U.S. government has consistently granted asylum to between 600 and 900 Chinese nationals each year for the past five years, but does not report that number will rise dramatically as a result of the ceiling for such claims being removed by Congress earlier this year.)
