FOX News Focuses on Immigration Reform Debate


In the first of two articles on the current state of play in immigration reform, FOX News notes DHS Secretary Chertoff’s comment last week that, “We have decided to stand back and take a look at how we address the problem and solve it once and for all. The American public is rightly distressed about a situation in which they feel we do not have the proper control over our borders," After reviewing legislative measures already submitted, and the stark challenge of reconciling them, a U.S. Chamber of Commerce spokesperson, who supports the McCain-Kennedy plan, commented "I think there are ways of making people happy."

(FAIR Comment: The comment by the Chamber spokesperson is reminiscent of the famous quote by Adm. David Farragut, “Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead.”)
