Appeal to Governor by Legislators on Local Immigration Enforcement


A group of Republican state legislators are unwilling to accept the opinion of New Hampshire’s Attorney General that there is no purpose in appealing a district judge’s ruling that using trespass laws against illegal aliens is unlawful. According to an Associated Press account, state Rep. Andrew Renzullo said, “It is vital to the safety of New Hampshire citizens that the flow of illegal immigration through New Hampshire be checked. Being a border state makes New Hampshire susceptible to infiltration by those entering illegally who could do harm.” A spokesperson for the Governor said the issue was for the Attorney General to decide, but that the, “Gov. Lynch believes it's important that federal immigration laws be enforced.”
