New FAIR Report: Illegal Aliens Cost Florida $4.3 Billion
FAIR's latest report "The Costs of Illegal Immigration to Floridians" estimates
that the total burden of illegal immigration each year on Florida is $4.3 billion. That amount includes only expenditures for education, emergency medical care and incarceration, so the costs would be significantly higher if expenditures on other programs such as special English instruction, law enforcement, translations, etc. were included. This study indicates that the burden on Floridians is substantial - about $575 per native-headed household - and that the costs are likely to nearly double in the next ten years if illegal immigration is not brought under control.
