Wal-Mart’s Slap on the Wrist

FAIR has learned from the Department of Homeland Security that the agency’s recent settlement of charges for employing illegal aliens - that included an $11 million penalty - didn’t apply any real pressure on mega-retailer Wal-Mart to mend its ways. One of the most useful arrows in the DHS quiver is a requirement that an offending employer sign up for the Basic Pilot verification system for all future hiring. FAIR learned that the enforcement folk at DHS did not levy this requirement on Wal-Mart. Information on the Basic Pilot verification program is available here.

Once again, the government is enabling disregard for the law and even breaking the law themselves by failing to enforce them...they undermine the American citizens at every turn and aid the continued decline of decent wages for all of us.

Not only should they have levied a very hefty fine ($11 million isn't much to them) and severe penalties for future infractions.

They should have mandated Wal-Mart to use one of the programs available to verify worker eligibility. Maybe they will get smart and mandate it to all their stores to use it.

Myself, I will not use Wal-Mart because of their attitude towards that practice. If they mend their ways and consciously enforce the "voluntary" items that are available by the "government" then maybe later.

In Singapore and Malaysia canings are administered to illegal immigrants. Is this not a suitable punishment?

I am urging my friends to leave the Rupblican Party, which has abandoned us by ignoring the holocaust-in-waiting, caused by the illegal alien invasion. The only thing our politicians will heed, other than money (and, boy, how they lust after that) is pressure from their constituents. I say we give them a strong message, they can get new constituents.
