Maine Bill Would Limit Licenses to Valid Visa Holders

A bill in the Maine legislature would limit the ability of illegal aliens to get driver's licenses. "Calling it a matter of homeland security, [Maine DMV's] Pease wants Maine driver's licenses issued to nonimmigrant visa holders to expire when the visa does and not six years after the licenses are issued," the Bangor News reports. "Rep. Ronald Collins, R-Wells, wrote the bill after Pease told him that Maine was becoming 'a sanctuary' for illegal aliens seeking driver's licenses."
