Agent Coordinating Arizona Border Effort Leaves
"The federal agent in charge of an aggressive effort by the U.S. government to crack down on immigrant smuggling organizations and reduce smuggling-related violence in Arizona is leaving after just seven months on the job," the Arizona Republic says. "He is leaving just weeks before the annual big wave of illegal immigration usually hits Arizona at the end of January, when undocumented immigrants chasing seasonal farm work begin crossing the border in large numbers."
