Arizona Poll Shows Support for Stronger Immigration Enforcement "Half of Arizonans favor a federal guest-worker program, according to The Arizona Republic Poll. But those polled overwhelmingly oppose driver's licenses for undocumented immigrants and they strongly support giving state and local police authority to enforce immigration laws, indicating growing frustration with the number of immigrants here," the Arizona Republic writes. "It tells Elsie Orta that Arizona is getting it. Residents are tired of immigrants taking jobs, tired of uninsured hit-and-runs, tired of hearing from police officers that they can't arrest the undocumented. 'We're full,' the 54-year-old south Phoenix worker said. 'They come and take our jobs and there are so many people here who are unemployed.'" |
