WHAT DEMOCRATS SHOULD DO ABOUT IMMIGRATION

Yeh Ling-Ling of the Diversity Alliance for a Sustainable America says the Democratic party should meet the challenge of out-of-control immigration head on. In a San Francisco Chronicle op-ed, Ling-Ling lists the many problems with our current immigration policy and says the Democrats in Congress should act to reduce immigration. “As the next Democratic minority leader in the House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi should therefore take the lead to advocate a sustainable immigration policy. Democrats should refocus on their traditional pro-worker and pro-environment ideals, not merely cater to ethnic activists or the cheap- labor lobby. This is the way to restore faith in the Democratic Party.”
