GA. LEGISLATOR PUSHES LICENSE BILL

A Georgia state legislator will be running 'town hall' meetings to generate support for a bill that would let illegal aliens get driver's licenses, the Atlanta Journal Constitution reports. "The proposal by state Rep. Barbara Mobley (D-Decatur) comes a week after DeKalb County commissioners agreed to recognize cards issued by the Mexican government as legitimate forms of identification." Mobley, who has introduced similar legislation before, explained that, "Granting a license . . . is a sensible public safety issue. It would give more people on our roads access to auto insurance, which is in the best interest of the state."
