ACTIVISTS VERGE ON DEFEATING ILLEGAL ALIEN DAY LABOR CENTER A wildcat day-labor center for illegal aliens will likely be evicted from its present location in Farmingdale, Newsday reports. An attorney for the landlord who rented space to the groups running the center "said the community group failed to live up to the terms of the month-to-month lease, which calls for it to operate furniture-related businesses or sell such items as plants and flowers. He also said they are violating the law by running a hiring site for undocumented immigrants and never told him they would create such a center." |
