NEW YORK AG ASSISTS ILLEGAL WORKERS, OPENS DOOR FOR EMPLOYERS New York Attorney General Eliot Spitzer "announced Tuesday that an agreement had been reached with area fruit and vegetable venders to improve working conditions for immigrant workers, many of them [illegal] Mexicans," The News Mexico reports. The Mexican Consul in New York said the agreement is "essential for the defense of the rights of undocumented immigrants, especially Mexicans, who are a majority in this sector." |
