MICHIGAN SCHOOLS CONFRONT OVER-IMMIGRATION
Michigan schools are confronting the effects of an out-of-control immigration policy, the Detroit News reports. "Pat Drake, curriculum consultant for Warren Consolidated, sees no slowdown in the current wave of Middle Eastern, Asian and Eastern European immigration into Sterling Heights and Warren." In fact, the paper reports, "[i]n the Warren Consolidated School District, which includes parts of Sterling Heights, about 22 percent of its 15,000 students speak a language other than English."
