NEW RULES FOR FOREIGN FLIGHT STUDENTS PROPOSED
The Justice Department has proposed new rules governing foreign flight students coming to the U.S. The rules would mean "all beginning aviation students from overseas be fingerprinted and provide extensive personal information before being allowed to learn to fly large airplanes in the United States." Also, the rules "would require experienced foreign pilots of commercial jetliners and other large aircraft to undergo more rapid background checks even when enrolling in refresher courses at U.S. flight schools."
